Why is My Tire Pressure Light On?

Most people can't judge if their tires are losing air by simply looking at them until it's too late. The tire pressure system in your car constantly monitors the state of your tires and alerts you to any change. While the light is usually accurate in judging pressure, there are times when it can misfire.

Tire pressure monitors can work in two different ways. The most common approach is to monitor each tire for changes separately. A certain number of monitors will instead only alert you if they notice one tire out of harmony with the rest. Cold or hot temperatures can cause your pressure light to come on incorrectly.

If your tire pressure light is on and you don't know why, don't hesitate to call or visit us at Big Rock Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram. Our qualified mechanics can run a diagnostic on your tire pressure system and fix it, as well as any problems you may have with the tires themselves.
